The people of Namibia are uniquely blessed to be living with wildlife, however CCF works to address common negative misconceptions about predators that can lead to fear and conflict, that make living with wildlife sometimes difficult.
The education department started outreach visits for 2016 to local schools in Namibia to address student misconceptions about predators and to provide supplemental environmental education. Educators visited primary and secondary schools Tsumeb & Otavi, seeing 2,067 students! Students participated in lectures about a predator’s role in the ecosystem, local predator behavior, and predator conservation.
