Lucy Walks Dogs for Cheetahs

CCF Staff received the following letter with a donation from a CCF Kid during Chewbaaka’s Wild Cheetah Challenge:

My name is Lucy Kotecki, I live in Madison, WI and I’m 10 years old. I live at home with my Mom, Dad, my brother Ben and my sister Rose and we’re all homeschooled.

At the beginning of the year I started a dog walking business in my neighborhood to help save the cheetahs. Since then I have gone on over 100 dog walks and I’ve sponsored 3 dogs thanks to your Livestock Guarding Dog program (Also thanks to Chewbaaka’s Wild Cheetah Challenge!).

I have loved cheetahs for as long as I can remember. I have lots of amazing memories including going to a cheetah run with my Dad in San Diego. I’ve always wanted to go see one in the wild but I realized that they are very endangered.

When I saw what CCF was doing and the Livestock Guarding Dog program, that really inspired me. I enjoy reading your stories and books about cheetahs! I also enjoyed watching your Ted Talk!

My Dad and I are going to drive to Indianapolis for the Cheetah Gala this month and I’m really excited to meet Dr. Laurie Marker.

I hope that the money I’m donating from walking dogs helps CCF! I will continue to donate so they can really save a lot of cheetahs! Thank you so much for everything you are doing to help save the cheetah!

– Lucy

P.S. Me and my Dad at the San Diego zoo when I was younger.

We are so thankful for kids like Lucy who dedicate their efforts to helping CCF and the cheetah. Thank you Lucy!
