Dr. Laurie Marker is a world-renowned conservation scientist and leading expert on cheetah biology and ecology. In 1990, she established the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) in Namibia, creating the first global model for predator conservation outside of protected areas.

With a DPhil in Zoology from Oxford University and extensive experience in veterinary science and genetics, Dr. Marker has managed rehabilitation programs for over 1,500 cheetahs. Her groundbreaking work spans from developing successful breeding programs in the United States to pioneering community-based conservation initiatives in Namibia and Somaliland. Recently, she facilitated the historic reintroduction of cheetahs to India.

Dr. Marker is a prolific researcher with over 170 peer-reviewed papers and author of the definitive textbook, CHEETAHS: Biology and Conservation. She has received numerous international accolades, including the Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement and the Lowell Thomas Award.
