On Saturday, November 9, 2019 three nine year-old girls from New York, held a fundraiser to support Cheetah Conservation Fund. Clara, Annie and Lula set-up a fundraising table next to rows of colorful eyeglasses hanging in Successful Vision, located in Pelham. Store owner Frank DePaolo (Annie’s dad) estimated that nearly 50 people stopped by the girls’ table and made donations.
The girls gave out thank you gifts to their donors: homemade cheetah masks, hand-drawn postcards, Cheetos, bookmarks, and chocolate chip cookies.
The three raised $296 to donate to the CCF and the cheetah. They chose to use the funds to sponsor Hermione and Rainbow, two of the resident cheetahs at CCF’s headquarters in Namibia.
This is the girls’ second fundraiser to help endangered animals. In July, they raised money for the International Otter Survival Fund.
Lula’s mom Tracy had this to say about the girls’ efforts, “They absolutely love their roles as animal activists and plan to hold more fundraisers in the future.”
We hope they keep up the good work for all the creatures that share our planet. CCF’s youngest supporters are making a big impact toward our work and we are incredibly thankful for all their efforts! Thanks and a big cheetah chirp to Annie, Lula and Clara.
