ADOPT A CHEETAH
Over the last century, more than 92% of the world’s wild cheetah population has disappeared. With fewer than 7,100 left in the wild, the cheetah is officially the most endangered big cat in Africa. Habitat destruction, poaching, illegal trade, and human-wildlife conflict are all pushing this icon of the African landscape closer to extinction.
By adopting a cheetah, you will help fund vital conservation efforts plus provide the care and support for our resident cheetahs who, having been taken from the wild at a young age, no longer survive on their own in the wild.
ADOPT A LIVESTOCK GUARDING DOG
The livestock guarding dog programme is one of the most successful initiatives at Cheetah Conservation Fund . These special animals use their imposing presence and loud bark to warn off predators such as cheetahs, stopping farmers from trapping or shooting them in retaliation for killing their livestock. The programme is proven to reduce livestock losses to predators by up to 90%.
By adoption a Livestock Guarding Dog, you will help continue to decrease human-wildlife conflict across Namibia and expand the programme into more of the cheetah’s range
ADOPT A GOAT
Around 25% of all of Africa’s cheetahs live in Namibia. Here they survive alongside humans, most of which belong to commercial and communal farming communities raising cows, sheep, and goats.
To communal and rural farmers, the loss of even a single goat can be devastating. Cheetahs and other predators are commonly viewed as a threat to the livelihoods of the farming community.
By adopting a Goat, you will help deliver and grow our community programmes.
