Please join us for an evening with Dr. Laurie Marker for a special screening of Born to Explore: Namibia: Land of the Cheetah. Come discover Namibia, the cheetah capital of the world. Learn how the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) is working to save these cats from extinction. Loss of habitat, human-wildlife conflict and the illegal wildlife trade have impacted cheetah populations worldwide and there are now fewer than 8,000 left in the wild. Learn about CCF’s integrated programs and research aimed at addressing the principle threats to the cheetah and discovers how a guard dog program helps local farmers to protect livestock while saving predators.

After the screening, stay for a question and answer session with Dr. Marker to learn more about the conservation of cheetahs and how it parallels carnivore conservation in California.
