Conservation Through Collaboration
Call Description:
Art and conservation have been integral partners. The Cheetah Conservation Fund recognizes this connection and invites artists ages 18 and above to submit 2-dimensional original artwork for the 2024 juried online art competition.
Work should be wildlife themed and represent how we can collaboratively build a better world where wildlife and humans can coexist.
Entry instructions:
Artists are invited to submit up to 5 works of original 2-D art. Accepted mediums include drawing, painting or mixed media and must be original and created solely by the artist. The following media will not be considered: photography, digital media or AI generated art, 3-D/sculpture, or wearable art/costumes/jewelry. CCF will not be responsible for any copyright infringement.
Work should be photographed or scanned and only include the artwork, no frames or background should be included. Only one image per piece of artwork should be submitted.
USD $40.00 for 2 entries, $15.00 for each additional up to the maximum of 5 total images/pieces.

Public Awards Announcement: December 4, 2024 (International Cheetah Day!)
CCF will promote the exhibition online through press releases and email campaigns. The show will also be promoted through the local chapter’s social media and email accounts. Selected artworks not limited to could be used to create campaign merchandise and as items for auctions to promote CCF and raise funds. Artists names will be included with any images used.
All artwork will be shown on the online web gallery.

2 Honorable Mention (selected by jurors)
1 Cheetah Choice – a humorous CAT-egory (selected by CCF team).
Best in Show and Honorable Mentions awards recipients will be featured in Cheetah Strides Newsletters, on CCF’s website and on CCF’s social media.
Jurors:
Donna Thompson
Donna is a professional art educator and practicing artist.
Retired from San José State University after teaching for twenty four years in the School of Art and Art History in the Art Education Department. She was the Department Coordinator and concurrently the Director for ARTPATH, an artist in elementary schools in Santa Clara County.
She has been inspired by the landscapes of California, particularly those of Santa Cruz County creating works on paper with dry pastel and more recently cactus images from her front porch collection and series in acrylic paint. The works also includes mixed media sculptures that strives to capture her spirit and whimsical nature. The study of multicultural arts has also greatly influenced her work.
Guy Combes
Guy Combes (AFC,SAA) an artist based in Arizona, grew up in Kenya surrounded by wildlife and the paintings of his father, Simon Combes. After fifteen years in the US, he has attracted a considerable following for his art and conservation activism, and shows in several galleries and museums across the country and around the world.
Terms and conditions:
All artwork will be shown on the online gallery from December 4, 2024. Copyright will remain with the artists, but in participating, the artist grants the Cheetah Conservation Fund the right to use winning artwork in any form for marketing purposes, including T-shirts and other fundraising campaigns (Artists will be given credit for their work). The artist gives consent for the Cheetah Conservation Fund to reproduce artwork and agrees not to hold the Cheetah Conservation Fund responsible for any unauthorized use or photography of any submitted work.
