About Paws for Claws

From the 1st to 17th of October 2021, walk your canine hero in support of CCF’s ‘paws on the ground partners’ in conservation – the livestock guarding dog. These incredible dogs perform the most important of jobs. They work on farms across the cheetah’s range to protect livestock and livelihoods, helping to reduce human-wildlife conflict so that people and cheetahs (and all wildlife) can thrive alongside each other.

How to get involved

There are two ways you can get involved – Go Walkies in your own time or join a Pawty in the Park with our Cheetah Communities.  There’s no sign-up fee but we kindly ask for a donation towards our conservation efforts. Money raised through Paws for Claws will help us increase the scale and impact of our ‘dogs saving cats’ programme.

Go Walkies!

Make your daily dog walk count and raise sponsorship whilst exercising your pawsome pal – anytime, anywhere, all in aid of cheetah conservation. If you don’t have a dog, you can still get involved and go walking with friends and family.

Have a Pawty in the Park

Who doesn’t like a party? Come join our Cheetah Communities at our Pawties from 9.30am to 3.30pm at:

  • Jeskyns Community Woodlands, Gravesend, Kent – 10th October 2021
  • Windsor Great Park – 16th October 2021

Simply sign up, make your donation, grab your hound, a blanket, coffee or picnic and you’re all set!

We can’t wait to see you there!

If you can’t make those dates, why not hold your own Pawty – invite friends, family, your dog walking group, or neighbours to join you at your favourite walking spot – at the park, beach, forest, or coffee shop! What could be better than enjoying social time, in the great outdoors, whilst helping to save the cheetah from extinction?

Once you’ve registered, we’ll send you all you need to know about our Pawties and can even provide you with an invite template should you wish to host your own.

Livestock guarding dogs work on farms across the cheetah’s range, to safeguard farmers' livelihoods by protecting their livestock. Their presence deters predators from attacking livestock, reducing retaliatory killing of cheetahs. They are so successful in preventing predation that there is currently a huge demand for CCF's LGDs with a 4-year long waiting list!

What happens next?

We’ll be in touch to send your cheetah guardian doggy bandana, sponsored by Hasbean, share the event FAQs and tips to help you fundraise, and to invite you to join our Facebook Community to connect with all those taking part.

And to say thank you…
