Capturing the essence of International Cheetah Day requires more than just celebration; it demands an urgent call to action and a profound understanding of the challenges facing these magnificent creatures. As we mark this significant day on December 4th, we invite you to embark on a journey with us — not only into the heart of our festivities but also into the stark reality of the cheetah’s precarious existence.
In this exclusive article, CCFUK is privileged to share a heartfelt message from Dr Laurie Marker, the visionary founder and executive director of the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF), alongside the dedicated team responsible for the welfare of our cheetahs and the realization of CCF’s mission.
But our celebration goes beyond mere acknowledgement. It’s a day of immersion at CCF Namibia, where we delve into the intricacies of cheetah life, absorbing invaluable insights into these remarkable creatures. Here it is a few photos from our celebrations in CCF Namibia.
Running with the Cheetah – Song by Davey Harris
In the spirit of continued festivities, we’re excited to share an acoustic rendition of “Running with the Cheetah,” a soulful song penned and performed by Davey Harris. 🎶 Released especially for International Cheetah Day, this track is not just a melody; it’s a tribute to the cheetah’s spirit and energy.
Song writer, Davey Harris, explains: “This song was created to honour the spirit and energy of the cheetah. Many people don’t realize that this animal will go extinct if we don’t do something about it. This was my way to help raise awareness while also channelling the fun, beautiful, and playful vibes of one of the coolest animals in the world!”
If you want to support our work to save them from extinction, please consider donating today. Any amount you can spare will be gratefully received, and there are lots of different ways to donate. Learn more here.
