Our Impact

Over the past several years, Cheetah Conservation Fund Canada has helped raise Canadians’ awareness of the importance of saving the cheetah in the wild. We have organized a number of public events and media interviews across Canada in which Dr. Laurie Marker had the opportunity to explain the challenges of saving the species and to describe CCF’s innovative solutions.

The impact of donations from Canada is increasing

Since 2013, we have been able to grow Canadian annual contribution to CCF conservation programs from $23,000 to $183,000 by the end of 2022.  We have supported youth education, Namibian and Canadian internships at CCF, farmer education and outreach throughout Namibia, the care of cheetahs at CCF Namibia and Somaliland Centres, provided much needed support to the livestock guard dogs, helped with research, construction of fences and dorms as well as ad hoc needs such as the rabies vaccination program under the One Health initiative.   Details information is available online with Canada Revenue Agency.

The important work taking place in Namibia and Somaliland as well as with other partners and collaborators across various African countries is critical to the survival of the cheetah. We welcome collaboration in Canada to help us grow and support conservation programs, to ensure a future for the cheetah and improved livelihood for people living alongside the cheetah.

We can make a difference, individually and collectively, to the cheetah’s survival. Your support helps us provide an urgent voice to the cause of saving the cheetah in the wild.
