📍 Horn of Africa — Cub Confiscation

This week, Somaliland’s Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) and CCF rescued a female cheetah cub (~8 months) from a household and transferred her to the Cheetah Rescue & Conservation Centre (CRCC) in Geed-Deeble for rehabilitation. 🐆

Since 2023, CRCC has been the main intake for cheetahs seized from the illegal wildlife trade and human-wildlife conflict. Our team provides individualized care—many resident cheetahs arrived as cubs with serious health issues and require lifelong support. ❤️‍🩹 At the moment, CCF cares for 96 bush cats and 28 cheetah cubs.

Rescue and rehab are just part of CCF’s broader work to understand and protect wild cheetahs across the Horn of Africa.

Consider supporting our programs to save the cheetah in the wild.
