At the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF), our commitment extends beyond wildlife rescue and land restoration—we are dedicated to inspiring the next generation of conservation champions. As part of this mission, we have launched a targeted teacher training program to help integrate conservation education into Namibia’s schools.
We recently kick-off the teachers training across Namibia on how to best use our Teacher Resource Guide (A Predator’s Role in the Ecosystem) to enrich lessons in natural sciences, biology, and agriculture at both primary and secondary levels. Our goal is to reach educators in three key regions: Erongo, Otjozondjupa, and Khomas.
Our first training session in the Erongo region was a tremendous success. Teachers expressed their gratitude and enthusiasm for incorporating more conservation lessons into their classrooms. They are eager to teach young students about the crucial roles predators play in maintaining healthy ecosystems, ultimately fostering a conservation-minded mindset from an early age.
We are excited to see how these lessons will inspire students and support Namibia’s conservation efforts. The feedback from our first group of trained teachers will help us refine and expand this program across other regions, ensuring that conservation education becomes a cornerstone of Namibia’s future.
Together, we’re nurturing environmentally conscious learners who will grow up to protect and preserve Namibia’s rich biodiversity.
