Dr. Laurie Marker, Director and Founder of CCF, Presents at The Denver Zoo
March 29 @ 7:00 pm
Presenting Dr. Laurie Marker, Director and Founder of CCF for the 2019 Spring Tour. Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Livestock Guarding Dog Program at The Denver Zoo! Join us at Denver Zoo in the Norgren Hall courtesy of Denver Zoo. Registration required for free tickets to get into the zoo.
Special guest speaker, Dr. Laurie Marker coming all the way from the nation of Namibia, Africa, will share updates from the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) on the plight of the cheetah. Find out more about the exciting holistic conservation methods CCF has implemented and ways CCF is leaving an imprint on this planet and saving not only the cheetah but African Wild Dogs. This is a very special year as CCF is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Livestock Guarding Dog (LGD). The LGD program is responsible for mitigating 80%-100% of human-wildlife conflict doubling the population of cheetahs in Namibia making CCF Namibia the cheetah capital of the world! Additionally, CCF is giving back to the communities and peoples of Namibia. The CCF Arts & Crafts program helps the community and women send their children to school. You will have a chance to help support this program when you shop at the African Market place where books and authentic Namibian artisan merchandise will be available. You can also find a few select items year round in the Denver Zoo gift shop.
In an effort to support the cheetah in the wild, consider sponsoring a cheetah or a Livestock Guarding Dog at anytime during this event with a sponsorship and receive a gift. Our resident cheetahs can’t be released back into the wild, and they need your help. *It costs $5,000 per year to feed, house, and provide medical care for the cheetahs at CCF. By sponsoring a resident cheetah or LGD during this event for $250 or more, you will receive a purring stuffed cheetah (The purr mechanism is Chewbaaka’s voice – CCF’s Ambassador Cheetah that helped educate the world) as well as receive 2 updates per year on a resident cheetah of your choice. Join us for this FREE event and don’t miss out on the rare opportunity to hear Dr. Laurie Marker present at the Denver Zoo.
Disclaimer: this is an educational awareness fundraising event. CCF is actively engaged in the effort to end the Illegal Wildlife Trade. CCF is fortunate to have the support of partner zoos and aquariums around the world. Should you choose to post about the event on social media, we expect that you do so in a respectful manner and in line with CCF’s mission.
All money raised will benefit the Cheetah Conservation Fund, which is a 501(c)(3) charity in the United States.
